Once and only once when I lived in NW Washington. It was on a cold, clear, and crisp evening just at or a few minutes after sundown (twilight) and after a heavy snowfall.
The colors that night were predominately purple and it made the snow covering the trees, homes, grounds and roads shimmer in a light purple color.
One of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen... I'd call it a spiritual experience.
