Did you ever see or grow a radish this large.. Grown organically 馃榾

Glassysky22-25, M
U hav f脿t fingers
@Glassysky You're rude and they're not mine.
Pretzel61-69, M
nope - I wonder if it is as hot as a regular radish
Pretzel61-69, M
@sensualbeauty1 interesting - I like the small hot ones but I'd love to try that one out too
@Pretzel I cannot remember the name of it but they're one of those exotic kinds. Extremely delicious and not dry, always somewhat juicy.
SatyrServiceM
@Pretzel Depends on the variety, and the circumstances of its growth. They tend to get hotter, if they鈥檝e been attacked a little bit by biting insects they make themselves hotter to resist it
lost21346-50, M
Wow! Are you sure that鈥檚 a radish? Lol
@lost213 Oh my! I guess you have to be happy with what you have, right even if you didn't get much garden produce this year. That's funny about the late bloomers. LOL

Our tomatoes are in abundance, l've made up salsa, tomato jam, jelly, sauces, and exotic marmalade with them, which tastes amazing. 鈽猴笍

@sensualbeauty1 now your just makin me hungry鈥ol I do love me some salsa.馃構
@lost213 Salsa is amazing, there's so many fascinating recipes or ones to make from scratch. 馃槉
I'm not partial to radish.. what do you do with them
@sensualbeauty1 I'll have to give them another go 馃檪
@metaldog That variety has red centres and they're juicy with a sweet taste. You should, l think you might be surprised. 馃槉
@sensualbeauty1 I think the trick is to slice them very thin!
SatyrServiceM
That is a big radish. Big as a beat.
@SatyrService That's very true, it was quite heavy as well. Wish it had of been edible, just grew too large to eat. Definitely a conversation piece though..
SatyrServiceM
@sensualbeauty1 I can suggest ways to eat it. Slice it up thin and pickle it. Or roast it slowly in And oven
Say about 400掳 kinda like her cooking a potato
Also radish Can be grated like carrots useful and salads and on sandwiches
@SatyrService Thanks for the advice and cooking tips. I've used them in a stir fry and other dishes, although l've never tried them in the oven, sounds interesting. Something to think about for next year's growing season.
Quimliqer70-79, M
Wow!! Now that鈥檚 a radish!! Bet it鈥檚 woody inside though, sadly.
@Quimliqer Yes it was very woody inside not at the ends though, towards the centre.
GJOFJ361-69, M
Wow! This should be featured in an organic gardening magazine
@GJOFJ3 I was thinking the same thing as it was so unusual looking and grown organically.
496sbc36-40, M

@496sbc At least 3 pounds it was quite heavy.
496sbc36-40, M

ShaneMckay41-45, M

@ShaneMckay Very surprised at its size, thought it was pretty interesting to see how large a radish could actually grow.
novaguy2u70-79, M
That looks like a turnip!
@novaguy2u I know but it's an actual radish.
bobhall586856-60, M

@bobhall5868 Yes it was huge!
Coldplay56-60, M

HairbrushDiva31-35, F
