Is this South island?
novaguy2u · 70-79, M
@SatyrService No, the lower North Island. I live almost immediately to the east of Kapiti Island. The hills in the background are known as Hemi Matenga, after some of the original Maori settlers in the area. There is a steep 45 minute climb for a fit hiker to the top.

@novaguy2u I have always wanted to visit that wonderful land. I have often worked with your countrymen on the water. If someone tells me they are from New Zealand, I know they will be competent on the ocean I don’t even have to ask

@SatyrService Ther's always a bed for the night here for any visitor.

@novaguy2u Sir! What a noble sentiment. I certainly appreciate your wonderful offer. Be careful! I do love to travel. And your land is one of the places I want to see. I still look forward to your further posts

@SatyrService The offer is genuine and always open to guests. The country isn't as peaceful as it was before Covid, but the scenery hasn't changed.

@novaguy2u I’m sorry to hear that there, like everywhere else. People have become fractious, over the subject of Covid. To be clear I am a science guy, and my sister-in-law is an epidemiologist
She warned me about that virus back in 2019 before the subject and become popular. No matter one stance on it these events have changed our world

@SatyrService Yes it's sad. However, it is equally sadly that the way that governments handled the Covid issue that have created societal divisions.

@novaguy2u Indeed sir, youare correct.
It seemed for a while that New Zealand was doing a pretty good job.

@SatyrService Unfortunately what was presented to the international stage was not a true reflection of public attitudes and perceptions at the time.

@novaguy2u That is what I have come to understand as well
