Gentle reminder that "save the bees" campaigns that are actually promotions for beekeeping are damaging to native pollinators

Honeybees do not need to be supported. They're an imported species that kills and pushes out native pollinators, which are the ones in decline. Honeybees also are worse at pollinating than native species. Plant native flowers and provide shelter for your local pollinators if you really want to help. Carpenter bees, sweat bees, bumble bees, and even wasps are the ones who need help 🐝

@Doomflower Arthropods are the ones who keep mostly surviving mass extinction events. Prioritizing their health and populations seems like a good idea since we're pretty much fucked when shit starts to go down
