Photographed my grand daughter's 3rd birthday party. The foliage is just getting really pretty and this family of deer decided to visit us. The male has a bum left front leg, was having difficulty walking or running on it, but the group stayed together.
Poor guy! He’s doing alright though if he’s keeping up, do you think it’s an injury or something from birth? He must be well adjusted if he’s still kickin around. Or maybe it’s just the whole “strength in numbers” thing?
@WaryWitchWandering the left leg seems skinnier than the right, so it is probably not a recent injury. I didn't see him walk faster than a walk, so it is hard to know how much he compensated. It was a bit unusual to see how the female and the faun stayed near him, most often I don't see such "family" groups.
@samueltyler2 exactly… that’s what made me wonder if it may have been a birth defect of sorts or a really old injury. Either way, glad he is seemingly adjusted
