So-called "World famous American hospitality" is part of America's perception of itself.

It wasn't foreign visitors to the USA that made that quote famous, it was Americans themselves who created that illusion who by the way, don't typically travel outside their own country as an upwardly mobile culture of people.

I've lived within 20 miles of the Canada/US border my entire life and I know more about Americans than I do about Canadians so yeah, I think I have a pretty good handle on it.
