Nineteen thousand children have been orphaned in Gaza.

The world looks on.

Please focus on positive suggestions as to how to move forward.

I’ve suggested a few in the main body of the post from a British perspective

Pray for peace and reconciliation in the Palestine.

Lobby the British government to make a more neutral stance.

Support David Cameron in his attempt to get humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. And his attempt to recognise Palestine as a State.

Support aid agencies financially. Including Christian aid and the UN.

I get what you are saying, but the problem isn't as simple as you want to believe. There can be no peace in Palestine until Hamas is destroyed.

@Ontheroad And many on the Palestinian side would say peace is impossible until Zionists have been destroyed? The reality is that destruction if either will almost certainly produce an even more fanatical and dangerous organisation.

@22Michelle That's the thing, it isn't the Palestinian people speaking, it's the PLO who the people say is corrupt and filled with Muslim nut cases who want to destroy Israel.

That is not going to happen and until Hamas and the PLO, plus a few other jihadi groups are out of it, there will never be peace.

Plus Iran has to back off supplying the terrorist groups, which is another wrinkle in the whole mess.

There is no simple way forward, not one that doesn't, at least for now, include eradicating Hamas, or at least its ability to fight.
@22Michelle
Do you seriously compare Hamas to Israel?
the difference between the two is that if Hamas puts down their arms there will be peace. If Israel puts down it's arms there will be no Israel.
Perhaps you agree with Hama's terror attack and pogrom on Oct 7th.
@22Michelle The true facts that remain, that the western world refuses to acknowledge is, most of the Islamic world refuses to aid the palestinians because of their historical violent acts, the ONLY three countries that still side with palestinians are Iran, Syria, and Jordan, the rest recognize Israel as legitimate .
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters Sorry what has this to do with the plight of orphaned children!
@Ontheroad And the needs of the children. Should we just let them starve?
@sunriselover where were you when it was the Syrian orphaned children?
Where were you with the Afghan orphaned children? Or the Iraqi orphaned children?
Where were you with the Israeli orphaned children?
@sunriselover where were you when Hamas was hiding and shooting from schools, hospitals and mosques using their own Palestinian children as human shields ?
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters Working with troubled and disaffected children, giving them hope and a sense of dignity. The ones society would pretend did not exist. Also working in a night shelter.

What were you doing!

Could I have constructive suggestions for this humanitarian crisis please, rather than probing into my personal life.
@sunriselover They did everything they could to clear innocent civilians out before attacking, blame Hamas for preventing them from leaving.

@sunriselover do you realise that of all the humitarian aid that has been sent into the Gaza strip for YEARS (also fro Israel who supplied electricity and gas) very little has reached the population? Hamas has been skimming it and saving reserves for themselves. With the billions of $ given to the Gazans Hamas gas made and bought arms , built subterranean tunnels to fight from and hide in instead of improving infrastructure and living standards, jobs , for their own people. Hamas definitely didn't care about the Palestinian children
@NativePortlander1970 If you have nothing positive to say, then do not contribute.
@NativePortlander1970 you don't need to convince me. I live here. I know what's been going on.
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I realized I read your reply wrong, I edited it, you might like how I did

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters Don't forget pay to slay
@sunriselover I don't deny that the Palestinian people and children are suffering immensely, I just wonder where all these people who are busy preaching how bad it is now and who's to blame, were all of these years. It didn't start 4 months ago. The Hamas has been reigning in the Gaza strip for twenty years already.
If you personally do humanitarian work and you're aware of the problems ALL OVER then you are doing great work.
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters Which is why I am sick of people like Welby not coming down on the side of Christian Arabs! They were horrified by his statements.
@sunriselover the Christian Arabs suffer so much from the Muslim Arabs. So many have left because of the treatment they receive
@sunriselover I personally know some xtian Arabs, in laws of my late ex fiancee's older son, they're even bigger antisemites than the klan, they're from Lebanon.
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters The ones I know, their patriarch fought during the early 80's Lebanese civil war in the Beirut xtian militia, he sent his wife and children to Paris during the fighting, going to New York, then settled in Las Vegas. He lost his inport/export business worth millions.
