Let's be honest. No one deserves the Peace prize because there is never peace in those places that are war torn.
Nelson Mandela deserved his award because he brought an end to apartheid in South Africa.
Signing peace agreements mean nothing if peace is not ongoing so those recipients who have received them in the past are unwarranted, except Mandela
From my limited knowledge, most recipients won the award for attempting to make change but in the long run, they failed.
Henry Kissinger won the award for supposedly bringing an end to the Vietnam War. How did he achieve this? He never brought an end to the war.
He instigated a massive bombing campaign on Hanoi so that the Vietnamese had to relent or be totally wiped out.
All Kissinger done was withdraw the US from the conflict.
The war went on for another two years.
The Nobel Peace Prize is misplaced. It simply awards people/organisations to try to justify it's existence.
My opinion is that this award should be abolished as it is purely symbolic, it is wishful thinking.
