AMC is now Jeep, which is owned by Dodge, Chrysler. It seems that autos are made with World 🌍 technology. Though you may have an American made auto, whether Dodge, Ford, Chevrolet or a name they own, it may not be all American made. My Jeep may have foreign parts, but I made it say American with an Eagle 🦅 on the hood.
Most American made cars are made with foreign parts and materials, I worked in a General Motors factory where they stamped the hoods, trunks and fenders so most of that was American made the shells were made elsewhere and these parts were sent there for assembly
With the way the current administration has essentially stopped development of EVs while most of the world is heading full speed towards EV and electic power for so much more, it is likely that the legacy US autoindustry will be essentially extinct in 5-10 years. Unfortunately, the same is likely to be true in other industrues as well.
Jeep is now rated by JD Powers and NHTSA ---Road and Track and several others....as the lowest quality vehicle on the highways today in the U.S.. Highest in recall and maintenance problems. Lowest in Customer Satisfaction.
The Jeep Gladiator has the lowest foreign car parts content at 26%. The Renegade is the highest at 95%.
