I'm not. Nixon led the way. Reagan was even worse.

@Bumbles I was there. You weren't. We never recovered from Nixon. Reagan made it very clear only the wealthy mattered.
@hunkalove Nixon and Reagan were both terrible presidents, especially Reagan, no question. But neither of them threatened democracy as an institution. And when the corruption was blatant enough, there was pushback from both parties. Republicans turned on Nixon when he was too open with his corruption, whereas Trump has been ten times worse and the Republicans actually like that.
Yes, we've had bad presidents in the past, but Trumpism is something America has never delt with before. I honestly don't know if America will still be a Democracy in a few years.
