Why are some used pick up trucks and SUVs selling for more than brand new models?

There are obviously huge production delays in the auto industry. A brand new F150 XL costs $28,745. In my area, the cheapest used one is a 2018 model with 17,475 miles for $29,300. But most used F150s cost even more.

Why don’t consumers just wait the six to eight weeks to get a new vehicle at a lower cost with a better warranty?

@ScottR I thought about replacing my Silverado, but when I saw the prices of trucks I decided I really loved my old truck a whole lot.

@exexec Same here. My wife said it’s the perfect time to sell my Nissan Titan. But I really like having a truck.
