I Am American
I care about this country I call my birth place. I can't understand some of the other "proud American" who berate other countries without knowing where they are or a lick about them. These people make us look bad further, many of them do not understand the our values, ideals our that some of our allies have bested us in the pursuit of them. England stopped participating in the slave trade a year before us. England ended slavery a whole 32 years before us. Those are two instances in which our former colonial ruler took equality more seriously than these United States.
I was lucky enough that while being an Amercan citizen I got to live in another country an learn to be respect fun of some other counties and learn also what it means to be American and that of our allies share the same values and language. Since then I have always enjoyed learning about other countries and understand that many differences between US and other places in the world are subjective rather than of objective value. No matter where someone is and from in the world you can find people you understand and who understand you.
