@LordShadowfire The good news is I think Trump genuinely wants to bring manufacturing back to the US. The bad news is he appears to have nothing beyond a concept of a plan to make that happen, other than making tariff threats that are more likely to make everything more expensive in the US while doing nothing for manufacturing

@plungesponge And see, this is exactly the problem. Last time he was elected, he had a few ideas that I didn't find objectively horrible. He was the first president to directly address the fact that insulin was obscenely expensive. The trouble is, even with his good ideas, he really doesn't know how to implement them properly. The tariff thing is a perfect example, and I'm glad you brought it up.

@plungesponge @LordShadowfire The underlying problem is that in a modern government and economy everything is connected. Whether we like it or not. Every action has a reaction and you cant prevent that. And trying to delay it only makes the ultimate reaction worse. Subsidize a farm or a business and you protect is against having to innovate and compete and drive it out of the competitive marketplace. Bang there goes another export industry, along with the jobs and the taxes those empoyees would have paid. Repeat this 10,000 times across the country and the economy weakens and shrinks.😷

@jshm2 While I agree with you, its the willingness to cooperate and contribute in Europe. There is less insistance on ones rights and more willingness to respect others..😷
