I Am African American

I hate the term “acting black”. Because it signifies that all black people are to act and speak a certain way because of what’s shown on tv. And if they don’t then they’re looked upon as different. The ignorance of it all. I don’t think some people realize that black people are individuals with their own personalities, likes/dislikes, wants, values, goals, etc. just like everyone else.

I hate that black people get to make words racist. White people can’t say the infamous N-word because it’s offensive... yet they would let it fall from their own lips.

I hate that there are more and more black kids disrespecting all of the work that the older generation had to go through to get the ‘African American’ race where it is today.

Unfortunately, that’s life.

@SW-User those who use the word are ignorant of the word. Just because they use it doesn’t mean everyone has to, I for one don’t use it because it’s derogatory.

Yeah it’s sad. Maybe one day that will change.
SW-User
@SW-User I highly doubt it. For as much as the pain and suffering that the back race have experienced, the younger generations will never truly understand.

Instead, some try to learn and respect their culture and others, they have some belief that they are owed something.
@SW-User
I'm going to take you at your word that you don't understand why some people can use words that others can't.
Give Ice Cube a listen because he is truly being kind while he breaks this use of words for everyone.

@SomeLikeItHot Unfortunately, I’m very limited to my counter argument. There are just some things, I can’t say.
@SW-User
Just pretend you are speaking to someone that it matters to.
You couldn't say just anything to anybody in real life either.
If you want to confess that you are prejudice or racist that is good too.
SW-User
@SomeLikeItHot Oh. I’m racist. I’ve never hid that fact.

Yet I have friends from all around the world.

The problem with the word racist, is that people always assume it’s against certain races. I have some horrific opinions on practically every race, including my own.

Then again, I’m just a horrific kind of person.
@SW-User
Hopefully you have the time to listen to others and not express your racism too freely.

The Poster expressed in what I believe was a very appropriate way, her individuality so I'm not really certain how your response fits in.

There are a lot of White Supremists and neo-Nazis that freely express their racism and I hope that you aren't one. A lot of blood has been shed on the battlefield to make racism unwelcome in our land.

@SomeLikeItHot I’m not quite a nazi, nor would I ever allow anyone... no matter the colour of their skin be harmed, if I have the ability to stop it.

My opinions are racist, sure. Everyone’s opinions are racist in one way or another, just got to find that one person who’ll say it is.
@SW-User

I totally disagree that everyone is racist.
You can have an opinion but you can't impose your opinion on others.

I am assuming you are from the US.

Our Constitution expresses that all men are created equal. Since 1965 with the Civil Rights legislation, it further built on what is legal including everyone's right to vote.
SW-User
@SomeLikeItHot I’m not from the US. Hmm. You know why you should never assume?
@SW-User
[@LazyYolking] is from the US.
You assumed you had something to say to a person not from your country
SW-User
@SomeLikeItHot No. I never said it to her. I simply placed my thoughts for anyone’s to read. I never addressed her, nor did I address you.

So now not only have you made an ASS of yourself, but an UMP will TION you.
@SW-User
You are playing games here.
You seem to treat English as something you have mastered.
If your country doesn't have equal rights for everyone you ought to come to the US for a country that it is illegal to practice racism.

It is a different experience.
SW-User
@SomeLikeItHot I live in a country where it is illegal to be racism.

I’m actually pretty sure that it’s less likely to hear a racist common where I live, compared to the US.

Every one I speak to from the US who isn’t white, has told me stories about their experiences.

Seems like a not so good place to live.
@SW-User
You are speculating and I see that you keep your country hidden.
Like I stated before you are playing a game.

Why would anyone take you seriously?
SW-User
@SomeLikeItHot I never asked you to take me seriously.

That’s what’s so fantastic about being me. There’s no desire to have anyone think anything of me.

I’m a free man.
