America became a Socialist country in 1933, when FDR was elected. It hit it's peak as a Socialist country in the 1940s-50s. Now the Socialism exists mostly for the wealthy. They feed their greed off the government and don't pay taxes while everyone else supports them.

@DanielsASJ Democrativ capitalism is a concept but it doesn’t work because pure capitalism is not compatible with democracy. Capitalism operates on hierarchical decision-making and inequality (i.e., "one dollar, one vote"). Democracy operates on equality and compromise (i.e., "one person, one vote"). Democracy and socialism are both based on people not on money being the driving force. What we have now in the United States has evolved into a form of democratic socialism. It uses taxes to cover major infrastucture, defense, and government services. Republicans desire a hierarchical structured society that would push us into a cast system with a minority of elites at the top holding all of the assets while the rest of society are basically their slaves, fighting for survival on the scraps that they give us and holding us down with a police state and state run media.

I think that ultimately AI will integrate fully into society and redefine the system we all live under. It will not be capitalism, socialism, or communism. It probably will not be democratic or fascist and will not be dominated by humans as we cannot make consistant, timely, informed decisions. Just like other control systems for delicate processes we will have to hand over control to machines and just monitor it. Sure, some people will try to bypass it or take advantage of the system but that will be accounted for by a level of hysteresis and feedback. This will also require a unification of monetary systems and economies so it will not happen soon.
