When Will We Ever Learn?

"Where have all the Flowers gone?" A most memorable lyric from the Kingston Trio. So poignant to today and yet we have had leaders of nations who through-out history sacrificed untold millions either for personal gain, or retaliation over senseless acts of armed violence perpetrated by organizations, people and other nations. So many wars have been waged by alterative motives that have had nothing to do with peaceful co-existence. Power, control and wealth have always been a major motive for amend aggression.

The world today has already unleashed the 4 Horsemen without the slightest remorse or regret for humanity and the environment. History has been repeated time after time. "When will we ever learn." The rising tempests all over the world stem from the fact that man is still incapable of resolving differences without using that phrase "Might makes right" mindset and ideology in settling disputes.

The expansion of empires, nations and even cultures have had a long history of violent armed conflicts. The United States is no exception. Our foreign policies for years have created many of the international crisis we face today. Now and again our government, past and present Administrations with no forethought send young men and women in harm's way. We continue in provoking more animosity and retaliatory responses from other nations, organizations and even cultures.

The seemingly senseless acts of violent acts of aggression continues to provoke more senseless acts of violent reprisals especially within our society. Our society and our government seem to be helpless in negating the atrocities that keep occurring.

As the 21st century continues to unfold we would have thought that by now mankind would have heeded General MacArthur's warning back in 1945. The sinister approach in differences that many in governments have had in decreeing their doctrines on populations have provoked many of the atrocities that are still occurring today.

When our Founding Fathers penned the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution in trying to form that perfect union today we have moved in the opposite direction from those hallowed documents. A systematic erosion of morality, education, liberty and justice have all influenced the rising temperatures not only in our society but the environment in which we all live. When will we ever learn?
