Actually that is wrong. The Celts were displaced by the Anglo-Saxons (who came from Netherlands and Germany)who were in turn displaced by the Vikings who were displaced by the Normans.

@TheDeathOfOzymandiaz Don't forget the Romans. What did they ever do for us.
@DeluxedEdition Probably not, as the Celtic culture arrived around 1000-500 BC or so.
The island was occupied for a good 10 thousand years previously.
Hunter gathers and the Beaker Culture were there first AFAIK.
Interestingly, DNA studies have showed that the vast majority of people in Britain are descendants of the original settlers of the island. Upwards of 75% so prior to all those just mentioned.
There was probably no genocides but the gradual swapping of cultures.

of course, many cities/towns through the UK and Europe were built by the Romans; don't see them offering up any restitution to Italy... 🤔

@TheDeathOfOzymandiaz the Vikings were basically pirates and took over a lot of territories including Britain through various Viking attacks and then that land was taken from them through battle by the Danes. It may not have been a "genocide" but it certainly wasn't a peaceful affair.
@wildbill83 There wasn’t really mass migration from Italy on the same level as the others thats why I left them out.

@TheDeathOfOzymandiaz King alfred and the danes after he the treaty and implementing his changes
@DeluxedEdition Danes is another term for Viking although they came from all over Scandinavia. I believe the majority of them to come to Britain where from Norway.
