What are some good "reverse" cover songs?

Assuming most cover songs are newer musicians paying tribute to an older musician's song. I'm considering a "reverse" cover to be an older musician paying tribute to a newer musician's song.

Blondie - Hanging On The Telephone (originally written by Jack Lee and performed by The Nerves)

Hanging on the Telephone
is a song written by Jack Lee. The song was released in 1976 by his short-lived US West Coast power pop band The Nerves; in 1978, it was recorded and released as a single by American new wave band Blondie.
Phil Collins did a good version of Bob Dylan's Times are 'a Changin'.

I piece The Byrds version of Mr Tambourine Man which is also a Dylan cover but released before the original charted, i think.

@Levenrack I remember that change!
These days Bob Dylan is basically covering Hendrix when does "All Along The Watchtower" which he wrote.

johnny cash's 'hurt'. but that always seemed more like johnny slapping a kid around and saying 'what do you think you know about being hurt, anyway?'

@Ambersky yeah, I think Trent also compared the experience to losing a gf to another guy. he still impresses me that he could see it that way and still be gracious about it.

@dirge Yeah that's the only one that came to mind. Originally I didn't even know that Cash was the one who covered it. Didn't have the Google search engine back then and though I knew who Johnny Cash was, I didn't listen to his music. I just assumed NIN covered it and Cash's was just having a resurgence, until a few years later.

@Ambersky Well not exactly… but close.

Trent Reznor initially felt his song "Hurt" was "invasive" when covered by Johnny Cash. After seeing the video, he changed his mind, saying it was "a powerful piece of art" and "wasn't his anymore."
Johnny Cash was initially hesitant to cover "Hurt," saying it wasn't his style. Producer Rick Rubin convinced him, believing the lyrics would resonate with Cash.
Cash practiced "Hurt" extensively, reportedly singing it 100 times before recording, to truly make the song his own.
The music video for Cash's version, directed by Mark Romanek, is considered a crucial element in the song's impact, praised for its powerful visuals.
Reznor wrote "Hurt" while living in a house once owned by Sharon Tate, the site of her murder by the Manson family.
