I remember listening to this and lots of soft pop (Rhinestone Cowboy, That's the Way of the World, Love Will Keep Us together, etc, etc) on the radio in my dad's shop. I was young and alone working there and I remember it was sort of an act of defiance because as soon as he would leave in the morning I would change the station from WTMJ in Milwaukee or WBBM in Chicago which were all news stations to any AM station I could get that had music. And then towards the end of the day switch it back to news radio before he came back.
@goliathtree Rhinestone Cowboy was the first 45 I ever bought.
Thanks for sharing that little nugget of a memory 🙂

@goliathtree I loved the song because the Rhine flows through Germany and felt kind of a connection and there really is one! I just googled it.
Originally, rhinestones were rock crystals gathered from the river Rhine, hence the name, although some were also found in areas like the Alps (the source of the Rhine). Today the name "rhinestone" applies only to varieties of lead glass known as crystal glass
@Rickichickie interesting bit of trivia! Thanks for sharing
