What is "The Boss" trying to do here?

I just came across Bruce Springsteen's new song, "Night Shift" on YouTube. A cover song originally done by The Commodores back in 1985.

What do you think?

What is he trying to do?

It's not what we're used to from "The Boss," is it still good?

Should older artists just age out gracefully?

Is he doing this because he's "The Boss" and he can, because he's no longer bound by pop culture or bound by record executive's decisions?

This post is inspired by @Zonuss with his smooth style. I hope I did you justice Zonuss.馃槄

This video shows you how diverse
and abstract a true artist can be. I think Springsteen is showing us right here that he is more than just an 80s rock guy. And that he can evolve and cross over into a different territory without losing his identity in the process.
He did very well in this classic remake song. It's catchy and upbeat. He is a legend . 鈽猴笍
