R.E.M., "Everybody Hurts" (1992)

May I share a story?

I remember listening to this song after a long evening at work, seeing all the patrons at the bar singing, and when I got home to my partner of the time, I made a quip 'REM's - Everybody Hurts' would be the perfect karaoke song for those sitting at the bar endlessly escaping and wanting something more from life, yet it would be so depressing.

She laughed with me for my observation.

I still have not sung in Karaoke, though I wish sometime I do, and my observation stands, I might just have a slight difference in nuance in my emotional findings now.

You’re a strong, beautiful woman to listen to this … it takes [i][c=800055]a lot [/c][/i] to hear this song … it’s poignant and so sad yet it’s one of the best [i][c=003BB2]real[/c][/i] piece’s of music I’ve ever heard in my life but would say one of the others of a similar nature is ‘Nothing compares to you” … imho 💜 🤗

Have you listened to Nightswimming? Nightswimming and Daysleeper are my favourite songs from R.E.M.
