Sting, "Russians" (1985)

I remember the world and the Cold War atmosphere when this song first came out and how profound these lyrics were back then.
It’s still a powerful song, indicative of its time, and in many ways even more relevant—but now it seems just a bit naive. Do the Russians "love their children (too)" ?
For that matter, do the Americans ? 😳

@bijouxbroussard I always liked that line. People accuse him of being didactic and condescending, but he's spot on here.
