Billy Joel's 1st New Song in 17 Years!

Have a listen! I think it is reminiscent of some of his earlier music. Lyrics are quite meaningful. I give it a big thumbs up!
What do you think of it?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

That's really lovely; I'm so glad he's creating again!!

@ElwoodBlues You're welcome. Thanks for listening/posting.
@ElwoodBlues "lovely"??? 😂

Pretty good. Sounds a bit like his early, "Stranger" era songs.

Sorry, but I didn't like it. The chord changes are predictable to the point of boredom, the syncopation is choppy and there's no hook.

@SW-User It's all good. Thanks for your critique and for listening.

Have to admit, the only Billy Joel CD I ever bought was RIVER OF DREAMS, and that only because Leslie West played on three of the songs...

I like it but I don't know why I feel his voice is slightly changed.🎶
OverTheHill · 56-60, M
@skybubble20 He's 74 now. His voice is showing its age.

@OverTheHill He's forever curly young piano man to me.😄 I didn't know his age, he is still good.🎼

Billy Joel was one of my favorites in the 80's. Thank you for sharing

@DemureDeb You are welcome. ☺️
Only 17 years I thought it was about 37.

@Gingerbreadspice Billy Joel’s most recent single, “All My Life,” was released in 2007, which was his first new music since his album “River of Dreams” was released in 1993.

He's not OverTheHill, is he? 😁
Billy’s back !! And he never disappoints.
This is a wonderful song. And like many he writes it can be experienced literally, but there are always deeper meanings. 😊

Sounds very Elton John in spots. Strange that it's not written solely by Billy, but it is good.

It seems to express his insecurity about new songs "did I wait too long to turn the lights back on?"
OverTheHill · 56-60, M
@uncalled4 Even though the song is a collaboration , it most certainly maintains that Billy Joel sound and lyric quality to it.
