I Listen to the Same Song Over and Over

Yeah...three times on Saturday morning, and once on Sunday morning,

It's the theme song from "The Great American Hero"!

I know...it's a kid'a program, right? But the song itself used to be on rock-and-roll radio before the program was formulated.

I do moat of my housework on Saturday mornings. With this song playing in the next room on the TV, I can sort my dried laundry and make my bed in record time, timing the loads still to dry. That's the biggest job. By the time I am finished, the program and song are over, and it's time to change the channel.

During the early afternoon, I have gravitated to the kitchen. Time for the "Rawhide" theme song. I sing along with Frankie Laine as he warbles it.

Sunday morning. "Great American Hero" theme once more. Breakfast follows.

I feel a little bereft afterward, It's such a long tine from Saturday morning until next weekend.

That's why I can listen to the same song over and over again.

That’s an awesome strategy. Smart lady.

@FloridaGuy Thanks! It's good to know I'm not crazy. Of course, living in an apartment house, if I don't get started by six or six-thirty, the one girl upstairs moves into the laundry and commandeers both machines...but that's another story.

Not crazy at all. It’s a challenge to find your motivation to do the uninteresting but necessary things. @MaryJanine

@FloridaGuy I am alone. Like the old saying is, "If you don't do it, it won't get done." The woman I used to babysit for had a big cutout of that saying on the side of her kitchen cabinet.

When I’m living alone due to chasing interesting assignments, my motto is “If it doesn’t get done, no one will ever know.” I need to be more like you. @MaryJanine

@FloridaGuy My one brother thinks I'm nuts...but I grew up with him and I'm used to that. God bless my mother for making me do what I didn't necessarily WANT to do in the beginning, which I now have down to a science.
