Was grunge the last time rock music was in the spotlight?
I'm not someone who says "rock is dead" but it's not in the spotlight like it was before. I know there are still some good artists but it seems like after grunge rock music took a backseat.

Of course not. Since grunge, there's been post-grunge, pop punk, nu metal, emo, garage rock revival, post-punk revival, neo-psychedelia, metalcore...
Rock may have gone under some commercial stagnation in recent decades, but there's been plenty of rock movements and revivals that have come and gone well after grunge. Where've you been? lol

@Ducky I think he is mostly talking about it's fall from the charts. It was taken over by hip hop and pop.
