A word about Taylor Swift .....

Like or dislike her,it's pretty much indisputable that Taylor Swift owned the music scene -indeed,the pop - culture scene -with her record breaking Eras tour. But the best thing she could do to start off 2025 is the drop out of sight and take a vacation ,in order to avoid overexposure. It wouldn't have to be long; maybe just for a few months. She could catch up with her family, play house with her new boyfriend,or whatever. Then, she could come back with whatever new project she has in mind. But a brief hiatus would be the best thing for her.

I think so too.

Huge Swiftie, but there's a very real danger of overexposure. 'Eras World Tour' and 'Tortured..' worked because there was little new music released and, certainly, no shows for a long time.

'25? Just write, rehearse and record. '26, put that stuff out.

@SarahTheHooker And I've heard from some people that her latest record wasn't that good .I'm not a hardcore fan,so I have no opinion on whether that's true ,but ......

@DavidT8899 So, if you go back into the dawn of time - around my grandparents or before ages - you had bands like The Beatles releasing around 34 minutes of music, ok? On Vinyl. With CD's, you could do around 80 minutes. More music to fill up the spaces. Now? The limits are your imagination.

If you think The Beatles et al put out great albums, within that time restraint, then you'd be correct. CD's? Very few did really bring the quality to fill that length. I believe Taylor has. She's done album after album, consistently, of 60 minutes and over. Full respect.

With 'Tortured...' you get actually well over 2 hrs of music. Far too much, I think, and for an artist that wants to give her fans value, I think she's overdone it. So, it's good but way too much filling.

My thoughts..

@SarahTheHooker Honestly,do you think she still writes her own songs?I think there was a time when she clearly did,and I'm not saying that I know that she doesn't now.Still ,she put out a LOT of product between doing her Ears tour and other activities, and it's very rare that an artist genuinely has that level of prolifacy.I know that she frequently works with collaborators, and by itself, there's nothing wrong with that. But is it now a situation where they are actually writing the material and she's pretty much just putting her name on it?Maybe not,but I do wonder.

@DavidT8899 I'd say there's less 'girl and guitar' writing than there used to be. Absolutely. But, is it the norm?

Watch this....

@SarahTheHooker now with AI it will take nobody. It's all marketing and who you know. Everyone wants a cut. We don't hear the good stuff. Only the stuff that they let you hear. Some countries only allow certain artists and some works have different songs depending on the country they are marketing in.
