I once went to Covent Garden. Saw Ben Hepperman play Othello. He was dreadful. I walked out!
I stick to my recordings. Less atmospheric but safer.

I love the Palais Garnier there, such a deliciously over the top building. Saw Cosi Fan Tutte there a few years back. Usual modern totally bizarre production set in a swimming pool or something. Why can’t they just put on something even vaguely resembling what the composer wrote.

@Serkan Toujours il me semble que le régisseur croit qu’il soit nécessaire d’apporter quelque chose nouvelle ou moderne à leur mise en scène. Particulièrement quand il s’agit d’un opéra bien connu. Il oublie qu’il doit y avoir plusieurs dans l’assistance qui voient l’opéra pour la première fois et qu’il veulent voir ce que le compositeur écrit.
