Just about everywhere. Going to Torre del Lago this year for a chance to see Edgar! From what I remember Puccini banned it from being performed so it’s a rare chance y to see it.

Once, early last year.

Giacommo Puccini's Madame Butterfly, performed by the Ukrainian National Opera on a UK tour.

The performance I saw was in the Pavilion Theatre, Weymouth. A screen on the proscenium arch gave a translation line by line to help us follow the story.

I thoroughly enjoyed it!

By contrast I had also seen The Searchers a few weeks before this, in the same venue, on what they said was their last tour - having started a couple of years before the Rolling Stones!

Puccini's Madame Butterfly in Boston, Massachusetts. This was one of many wonderful performances I enjoyed when I lived there. It was such a beautiful performance that I was driven to tears and could not stop thinking about it for weeks afterwards..

Several times at Covent garden in London.

Mozart operas are my favourites

The marriage of Figaro is wonderful
@Picklebobble2 I love Mozart.especially Cosi Fan Tutti.

Saw Ben Hepperman once at Covert Garden in Othelo. But it was bad, so I walked out.

@sunriselover Yeah sadly you often have to experience the dross in order to appreciate the excellent
@Picklebobble2 That’s true

No. I thought I could wait until we were Rome to do it. Needless to say, we left it too late. I was very annoyed with myself. It would have been a very special experience.
La Boheme. At The Met in NYC. My grandmother was trying to make us cultured. But I prefer Tommy.

I have only watched them on dvds. My favourite is La bohème, Giacomo Puccini.
@Jemimapuddleduck Saw that live once, at the London Coliseum.
I was 22.

The musical Rent is roughly based on it. Saw that with my wife when she was a student.
I watched Carmen in Pretoria. It was amazing, I loved it.
@CrystalSkull It reaches your soul.
@sunriselover it does. Sigh I want to go again. Sadly there aren’t many operas in my city.

No, but I always wanted to go to one in New York at The Metropolitan Opera House.

One day I'll get to go
I think I've only seen Jenůfa by Leoš Janáček, in Charleston SC US during the annual Spoleto Festival USA, possibly in 1998

Can't remember if I've seen anything else
@BlueGreenGrey That is supposed to be lovely
@sunriselover possibly the most memorable year for me was seeing Philip Glass in person (I think that was 2007)
