@Ducky Chastain was my favourite band for quite a few years. David T. Chastain was never the most melodic of guitarists, but he played with unmatched ferocity and intensity. I love the songs too.

@Jenny1234 Definitely not power metal, but the Ramones were pretty stripped-down and intense. I saw them once in London in the late '90s. I think it was probably on their last tour because Joey and DeeDee died not long after that. According to Wikipedia they were influenced by The Beatles, but I always thought Status Quo were their true forerunners. Simple, no-frills, full-on guitar power. I still love this song as much as I did when I first heard it about fifty years ago:
