I Write Music and Lyrics

Cool! I'm a musician as well but have yet to record anything I've done, so I respect anyone who puts in the time and effort involved. Good for you for taking that step. Sweet sound. Y'know I've never understood the function of critics, in any medium - music, visual art, written. It's far more meaningful to me if someone just says to me that something I've played or written has touched them in some way. I'm curious what you think? Do you like when people give you critical input, does it depend on who is giving it, or would you rather just play for folks and see what kind of response you get ... or does it matter to you? Just curious questions for me.
