I liked both groups but have to go with the Beatles.

Beatles: "Hey Jude" and "Let it Be" put them way over the top.

Beatles absolutely would win.. however this setlist would not happen songs would come from White album era mainly.

My research shows that no one was able to hold a candle to the Beatles back in the day.

The closest in the US was Elvis and The Beach Boys.

Great Post ...as always :)

The first song in each list defines the winner

Dave Clark 5 "Glad all Over" knocked The Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand" off the number one position.

And Dave Clark 5 appeared on Ed Sullivan 18 times

Tough one. I believe DAVE CLARK FIVE actually outsold THE BEATLES one year. I remember watching both on THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW.

As to the "battle" -- almost a tie. I prefer the first three DAVE CLARK FIVE songs to the first three BEATLES songs, but then prefer the last two BEATLES songs over the last DAVE CLARK ones. THE BEATLES progressed, DAVE CLARK really didn't.

@ChipmunkErnie I agree with the progression statement.
