WEEKLY PLAYLIST CHALLENGE FOR JULY 12, 2019 - WEEK 1

I was commenting back and forth with another member @Carver here today and she was telling of a dream she has to create an ultimate playlist for other users. This started me thinking about the writing challenge and how many people participate in it weekly. So why couldn't we have an all-inclusive musical challenge where members post a song that comes to mind from a theme or prompt that I will provide each week too? So here we have the first weekly playlist challenge.

This Week's Theme:

Beyond Mortality.

Suggestions for Playing on the Playlist Threads:

1) You can post any genre of song; however if it contains offensive or explicit language please mark your post as "nudity" or "sensitive" because we want to keep this open to as many adults as possible and therefore I won't be marking the main post as adult.

2) You can either list Song Title/Artist or post the YouTube link directly to the song. You want people to be able to listen easily so be sure to include that artist too.

3) Feedback is welcome and banter as well, but remember that there is a person behind every post so no personal attacks will be tolerated and I will remove any such posts.

4) This is an all-inclusive fun challenge so feel free to tag other users in the comments below and remember that no one is ever obligated to play, but everyone is invited and welcome to do so.

5) The challenge will run from Friday to Thursday and I will post the new theme each Friday.

6) You can post in the comments or start a separate post with your reply, but please, if you post elsewhere please link the post in the comments so I and others do not miss it. :)
7) If you know the story behind a particular artist's song feel free to include that in your post or comments too. Or if you have a story behind why you chose a song or a connection you have to it please feel free to share that too. It makes things even more interesting.

So who wants to "playlist" with us?

Madison "Maddi" Lane, the daughter of late WARRANT singer Jani Lane, has posted her cover version of WARRANT's hit single "Heaven".
"This is a tribute to my dad, Jani Lane, from the band WARRANT. This song was a classic and I decided to sing a cover for it. The final version will be uploaded sometime after Christmas, which will sound a little more professional, but here is what a friend and I did in a recording studio in one day (I may also be changing some of the lyrics to make it for a female)."

She was only 11 when she lost her dad.

Copy & paste in your browser and you"ll hear her sing "Heaven" dedicated to her dad Jani.

(sorry can't post from SoundCloud)

RIP Jani

@Synyster That was a beautiful cover. You can hear the nostalgia in her voice as she sings that. I think it would be cool to have some of the 70's and 80's singers' children sing covers of their parent's hits. Let the proceeds go to charity. I would buy it.

@Fungirlmmm I agree with you.
It would be very cool.
Like for instance, Wolfgang Van Halen, son of Eddie who plays bass in Van Halen.

Maddi Jane is such a great singer, I really liked her version of Heaven dedicated to her dad.
