Love Benny Goodman's clarinet playing.

@ChipmunkErnie How about Artie Shaw?
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@SW-User I know I've heard him, but don't really remember his music. :( Rightly or wrongly, I associate Shaw with a more mellow, laid-back, boring music and Goodman with really uptempo swing. But it's not like I listen to either of them every day, so it's just an impression I have.

@ChipmunkErnie Begin The Beguine... Stardust. Shaw had a more robust, richer tone.

@SW-User If ypou say so. I know both the tunes you mention, but can't for the life of me remember what Shaw sounded like playing them. "Stardust" I remember mostly from the Benny Goodman version; same with "Begin the Beguinne".

@ChipmunkErnie Don't get me wrong. I love Benny Goodman. In fact, The Benny Goodman Story is my favorite Big Band movie biopic.
