Django is one of my fave guitarists. The duets with Grappeli are legendary, humbling and inspiring.
@Sacron22 How wonderful to see you ! I hope you’ve been well. 🤗🤗🤗

I absolutely love the Quintette du Hot Club de France and other cooperations of theirs 🙂🙂👍

Yes. What fantastic musicians and sexy music
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@Funopenrelationship They definitely were especially when you know that Django lost the use of two of his fingers on his left hand in a accident
Funopenrelationship · 36-40, M
@Dlrannie indeed! Developed his own technique. Talk about making the best of what you have to work with. Both inspiring individuals

This is fantastic. Love the music, and the GIF you selected is perfect. Well done, my friend. 👏
@Rutterman Thank you, D. 😊
Very pretty, delicate, with a very lively subtle swing.
@thewindupbirdchronicles This was my grandparents’ era. I remember when I visited granddad’s shop he’d have this or something like it playing. And Mom said she and her siblings grew up watching them dancing to it.
@bijouxbroussard Thank you for the share in story, and I do believe it was a different era. I've had the rare moment to see this recreated, but it's usually walking into a bookstore at 1am with only the owner awake, and a part of you just wants to jive and dance to the music, but that's very different from appreciating the sight of two people dancing. You are lucky to have those memories from your family. ❤️
Ever hear John Jorgensen play? He actually portrayed Django in a movie.

@BlueSkyKing No, I wasn’t familiar, but they did a lovely job.

Such a lovely song to slow dance to, warm, close and sensual.
@Dino11 Yes. I have a Bose speaker and was listening to it last night.

@bijouxbroussard Love to slow dance with you, with that playing.
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Still two of the very greatest ever.
@OldBrit Indeed. I wish Django had lived longer. He had some collaborations with Duke Ellington that were also amazing.

@bijouxbroussard
My dad introduced me. He was more of a Grappelli fan but through him playing old 78s he'd bought in the 40s there was Djanjo.

My dad also introduced me as a young boy to The Inkspots too through that old 78 collection which very sadly went sometime after his death.

Looking back now for a very English white shipwright working in a shipyard all his life I now realise my dad had a very electic music taste and was probably instrumental in me listening more broadly than many of my contemporaries.

Wonderful music! I love that old hot jazz. Django was amazing!
Dino11 · M
That is lovely to dance to. 💃🥰

I like this...👍
@eyeno Thank you. Seemed like the perfect gif for a piece entitled “Clouds". 😉
