He was a three. He promoted black music and had a good voice..Right place, Right time..😷

Did Sinatra write anything? Elvis could at least play guitar. Both worked had a reputation of a hard work ethic when it came to recording.

He was never a "musician" as such, though I believe he did play guitar and piano adequately. He was a singer in a time when singers weren't expected to play instruments or write songs, and as such he was a great singer. Knocking him for not writing songs is like saying Pavarotti sucked because he didn't write his own operas.

He was though extremely successful as an entertainer, helping make rock-and-roll flourish.
