Wow! I've seen nest cams, but still didn't realize just how huge the nest is.

@AbbeyRhode they are tough birds. Females are quite a bit larger than males. Their mates bring them food when they are nesting.

@cherokeepatti Her mate needs to bring a snow shovel!

@AbbeyRhode 😂 or a little tent to keep the snow off the nest.

We have some golden eagles that nest in the trees at the creek. I could use it for a deer blind.

Eagles love their homes. We have them locally.

@PoetryNEmotion We have bald eagles here. I have seen one at 3 different times. The last time was on Veteran’s Day a few years ago as I was driving to work in Oklahoma City. It flew low in front of my car and I got a great view…smaller than I thought one would be and it was a male (they are smaller than females). I was thinking of my mother and the sacrifice she made when she joined the women’s army right after WWII at the same time the eagle flew down across the road.

@cherokeepatti Birds are messengers! When I think of this one fine man, the Canadian geese fly over. It is uncanny. And the smaller raptors come too. The hawks.
