Why do country music singers always sound retarded?

You can’t tell me it’s the accent. I know Southern accents and they usually sound quite charming, tbh. But with country singers, it’s like they go out of their way to feed the stereotype of southerners sounding like illiterate inbreds. And you just know they’re singing that way on purpose! There are countless British acts out there who, if you didn’t know, would never guess they were British because they don’t sing with their accents! Is that disgusting country accent really that appealing to country music fans? Is it not country without the accent?! 🤮
