Again I’m so glad that she does not appear to have had any skeletons in her closet, as now would have been the time to reveal them. Instead, it seems she was a truly good person.

The world has been lucky to have her.

She was awesome alright! What a voice and heart!
Well said. This world and this country are less without her.

Larger than life woman, but also really down to earth, and warm n' decent. Not many of the truly great in Entertainment are left now :(

Home with Jesus but I bet she's having a few words about those massive boobs she was given bless her. She was awesome though, I liked her music and some of the films she was in.
Go to any major TV network right now... this is big/sad news. The impact this woman had...

@rinkydinkydoink Main story on BBC News at 10 this evening as I write.
Really sad news. She exemplified the very best of what a person could be. She will be sorely missed. RIP dear lady.
@bijouxbroussard Just doing a bit more reading about her and wanted to add this. After all her years of fame and fortune she never forgot where she came from and what/who is truly important. A remarkable woman.

In 1995, Parton began her Imagination Library project, which sent an age-appropriate book to every child in the county every month until they were five. “My father could not read and write, and I saw how crippling that could be,” she explained. It expanded nationwide in 2000, internationally in 2006, and 40m books are now distributed each year across the US, Canada, Australia, the UK and Ireland.

In 2022, Parton explained that as well as improving child literacy, “it’s the fact they get recognized. They get this little book with their little name on it in the mail, and they feel special. They start taking pride in themselves, and they know that somebody out there is thinking of [them].”

She was loved by pretty much everyone.

Can't speak for others, but I feel like I just lost an adored member of the family. 💔 😞

Rest in eternal peace, Dolly. 🙏
@Rutterman What’s coming out now are all the good things she did for people, quietly and often on her own dime.

It’s good to see you ! Someone was asking about you just today. You’ve been missed. 😊

@bijouxbroussard I've been reading and hearing a lot about her philanthropic activities since she passed away. It's almost breathtaking how extensive her endeavors were. Some of them I didn't even know about until now.

Good to see you too. I missed being here. 😎
