“Seven Year Ache” – Rosanne Cash

[media=https://youtu.be/xZAPO-zQSFQ]
This is the first of ten #1 hit singles on the US Country chart by Johnny Cash’s eldest daughter.

“Seven Year Ache” had crossover appeal as well, reaching #6 on the US Adult Contemporary chart and #22 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1981. It was also #6 on the Canadian country singles chart.

The song was written by Rosanne Cash and is the title track on her third studio album, Seven Year Ache. The album was mastered a few days after John Lennon’s murder, and as a tribute to Lennon, Cash had the mastering engineer engrave “Goodbye, John” into the vinyl’s run-out groove. The etching appeared on the first 25,000 copies of the album.
