“Help Me Make It Through the Night” – Kris Kristofferson and Lorrie Morgan

[media=https://youtu.be/uXMTxlAZQnw]
Sammi Smith did the best-known (and arguably the best) version of this song, written and first recorded by Kris Kristofferson.

I’m not crazy about the original, solo recording of “Help Me Make It Through the Night” by Kristofferson, but I really like the version he later did with Lady A and the one he performed with Lorrie Morgan, which I’ve posted above.

Also, Kris Kristofferson turns 86 today. Happy birthday to Mr. Kristofferson.

And five days from now, Country Music star Lorrie Morgan turns 63. Happy birthday to her.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Kris and a Happy Birthday in advance to the beautiful Ms. Lorrie. 💐💖

@Vivaci I was impressed by just how beautiful she is, as well as her amazing voice.

Hope he's having a good one, and hope she has a good one too when her cake day rolls around. 🎂
Couldn’t agree more….🤗 I noticed that about her voice too. She sings with a natural ease…which is what I love with singers. 👌

Amen 💖💐 @Rutterman

I kind of feel like I should have known it was his birthday yesterday, since I've had a little crush on him for so long. What a great version and video of that song. I'd not seen it before.

@Piper I agree. It is a great version and video. Stumbled onto it while I was looking for something else on YouTube.

@Rutterman Lorrie Morgan does have a lovely voice, aside from being lovely to look at.
Kristofferson is a great actor and a brilliant songwriter who also wrote "Me & Bobbie McGee," but to me the most surprising thing about him is he won a Rhodes scholarship!
