Are Coldplay maligned rightly or wrongly

Watched the Coldplay documentary - Head full of dreams. Kind of made me reassess my opinion of them and was thinking can they be classes as a pop or rock band?

I’m thinking they are a pop/rock band.

It’s like most groups, their music resonates with some people and just doesn’t with others. Like beauty—except in the ear of the listener. 🙂
