I was. I read the first and second books when I was 8, and the third book came out that summer, and I waited for each book after that. I watched all the movies but was disappointed, especially as they went on. I guess the writing changed as I aged, because going back and rereading the first book, I remember it seeming like a kid’s book.
I may go back and read them again some day.

@itsok I only read the first book.

I had read so many different fantasy authors at that point that I just couldn’t get into it.

Now that I read less, I might go back and see if I could enjoy them. Maybe I was just jaded back then.
