The Beatles — Hey Jude ❤️

Yesterday, after visiting with my sister from out of town, I was in a Beatles sort of musical mood. So, as I was working around the house, I had their music playing. This song. It was one of my Mom’s favorites when she was younger. She’d tell us how she wore out the 45 single of this song by playing over and over again. Now, listening to it while missing her, the lyrics just hit so deeply.

Hey Jude
Hey Jude, don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.
Hey Jude, don't be afraid.
You were made to go out and get her.
The minute you let her under your skin,
Then you begin to make it better.
And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders.
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder.
Hey Jude, don't let me down.
You have found her, now go and get her.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.
So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin,
You're waiting for someone to perform with.
And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude, you'll do,
The movement you need is on your shoulder.
Hey Jude, don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her under your skin,
Then you'll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, oh.
Na na na nananana, nannana, hey Jude...
(repeat X number of times, fade)
@bookerdana She said when the side with Hey Jude wore out, she started listening to Revolution on the other side. Who knows, though. I’ve found the 45s available to buy on Etsy and EBay. I’ve thought of getting one to send to my sister.

@uncalled4 I don’t think it’s possible to only pick one favorite. Here Comes the Sun has always been one of mine.

I saw Paul McCartney in concert several years ago. Everyone sang along when he did Hey Jude. It is a great song.

Nice to be reminded of times with people we love.
