The Story of John and Yoko at the Amsterdam Hilton

Have you ever taken a trip and got something extra you didn't bargain for? Well, I stayed at the Amsterdam Hilton, the same one that John and Yoko staged their bed peace in. I had no idea until I heard Amsterdam Hilton in the same sentence.

They showed up unannounced and with no reservation but they were put in the Presidential Suite in Room 702 back on March 25, 1969. the irony? They didn't pay their bill. But the Hilton got the last laugh. They charge 1100 per night to sleep there. Because I was a paying guest, I got to tour the suite and I have to say it is the highlight of the trip. Yoko brought Sean back twice and has had it decorated with the doodle drawing that John made of them.

Here is a picture of John and Yoko entering the room in the Ballad of John and Yoko

Here are some pictures of the suite.

They were protesting the media so they covered the TV but they invited the media into their room for a week.

The song is printed on the ceiling of the bedroom

I have been a big fan of the Beatles, especially with John and George. John was why I learned to play the guitar. May he rest in peace

@mindlessdrifter the best appreciation is watching the Let it Be sessions on the Disney channel. I went to the original at the theatre when I was about thirteen, but to see and hear the dialogue now, between them is absolutely amazing. I love how you can hear and see them write songs just off the cuff, which dispels the myth of hidden meanings. Hey, a word just rhymes with that one...and George is shown how gifted he truly is. They all are!🙂

@Barefooter25 I am sure it is a prop (real TV since the room is rented out) but with the blanket over it. LOL
