You can’t prove to anyone else that you’re conscious

Shybutwilling2 · 61-69
No one on here is conscious

I can't? Well, they are looking at me through their consciousness, so I guess not then. I can just exert stimuli and influence them someway, but that's what a rock can do. Or a river. And they're not conscious. Hm. I'd need to think more on this.

@greensnacks you can prove to yourself your conscious though

But what if what we call consciousness is an illusion that has great survival value for keeping a particular group of living cells alive for awhile?

The act of thinking whether or not we are conscious arguably proves that we are conscious.

Plus, not all arguments are proven by observation. An a priori deduction should be proof enough.
