Cute story about 3 Dog Night. When I was a freshman in College they had a hit song Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog. I liked it and only later did I hear the story behind it. Hoyt Axton had a gig. He played his favourites and then came up with something original. He had the melody and he had the words "Joy to the world all the boys and girls etc but didn't have any lyrics. On stage he started running words together that had no real meaning but they fit the tune. After his show was over 3 Dog Night who had been in the audience asked Hoyt if they could record his new song. He kind of stammered for a bit and explained that he was just stringing words together and couldn't remember them. 3 Dog Night said "No problem we recorded it" The rest they say is history.
