I have noticed a disturbing trend regarding youtube music videos

Over the past 2 - 3 years many “live” music videos are being claimed by individuals and posting on facebook.
Years ago, almost all songs had the original live version for viewing.
Today many of those videos are not available to the general public.
The songs are still available, but only with a still shot of the artists or a picture of the 45’ record.
What do these people get out of locking a large cohort of the public out of the pleasure of viewing original content?
A lot are also locked away via copyright.

Copyright infringement on the video part is easier to detect. So just substituting the video will allow YouTube videos to not be banned internationally.

It's all about money in the end. And it's quite possible even YouTube will eventually ban even the sound part.

AI will help make the differentiation eventually. It's doing so now on the video part, which is the biggest money maker.

Best download, what you can, while you can still download it at all. 😔

They are even pulling simple stuff off of archives.org. Even book PDF files.

Had to download the voice version of The tin drum by Grass, Günter. Rather than the book PDF file on archive.org. Spoken by an Ozzie at that. 😆

What you see available is only a few pages. Or reviews.

By off chance, the German video of the tin drum, just happens to still be available. Yet it's in German totally and no English subtitles on archive.org.

Doesn't do anyone any good, if you don't understand German though. Hence why it's still there at all.

I have come across this same problem with other books though. Foreign languages are available, yet not in English.

Notice I mentioned multiple situations. File formats and even different languages. Or even with language subtitles.

You must think of different things to just get anything anymore. What is not available one way, might be available another way.

It takes time even for AI to go through everything.
