Another great song from the 60s

Most 60's songs are great.
Simple lyrics, simple tunes, pure voices
Rhythm of the Falling Rain
Sung by a man whose lover has left him; the rain falling reminds him 'what a fool' he has been.
He rhetorically asks the rain for answers, but ultimately he wishes it would 'go away' and let him cry alone.

Simple maybe, but the words told a story in those days, something you so rarely find in the "music"(?) of today. McArthur Park, The Green, Green Grass Of Home - need we say more!

Gus, you on night shift !

What happened to us as a society since 1962, I wonder?

@swirlie Not sure where we started to change for the worse.
I know I went of music from the 80s. So many meaningless lyrics.

@Gusman
I think Vietnam changed a lot of younger people's perspective on life in the mid to late 60's from what I've been reading. It must have been hard to listen to the songs of innocent lyrics, but then be shipped off to south Vietnam involuntarily made a contradiction of America's reality.
