Showing my age

I am relaxing at home listening to "Supers Ready" a track by Genesis the very first live band I saw back when I was 15. It blew mind back then and still sounds good.

Here's some envy! To me, the whole "Foxtrot" album is a perfect example of progressive rock, together with Yes's "Close to the Edge".

Was it Peter singing when you saw the concert, or Collins?

@MrAverage1965
I also saw YES back in the 70s and ELP
I need a time machine so urgently!

@helenS Fortunately we have YouTube and in most cases you can at least see what you missed.
helenS · 36-40, F
@MrAverage1965 I missed a lot 😐

Age 15? At age 15 it was still mostly jazz for me, but that new kid Elvis and some other R&B crossovers were starting to emerge.
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@dancingtongue The world of music was a very different place back then.

Everyone I know seems to recommend genesis. I need to listen to them!!
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@Deb1984 I first saw them in the mid 70s a couple of members left during the years and the style of their music changed considerably so there is plenty of variety.
Deb1984 · 51-55
@MrAverage1965 I’ll be giving them a listen :)
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@Deb1984 Maybe start with an album like Duke and then work your way forward to more recent things and then back to the beginning.

I love Genesis. Carpet crawlers is my fav song of them.
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@Rickichickie It is one of my favourites. I saw a tribute band last year and they played the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway album in its entirety

@MrAverage1965 my husband and I were at the concert of the cover band Elton and the Joels. All brilliant musicians and we, the audience went crazy.
