Almost anything from the Beach Boys circa mid 60's - Sloop John B, Good Vibrations, Barbara Ann, CA Girls, Man with All the Toys. Some Elvis, many others. In eighth grade, a slow song "Little Children" gave us an excuse for hugging the gals for 3:04 - - - - -
A little later - The Carpenters. Karen's (RIP) luscious alto lending warmth to Richard's tunes. Sorry to hear it end far too soon.
Many of my "always" favorites were from earlier eras, though. 40's big band stuff - When I studied organ in the early 70's , many of my assigned songs were from this era. Three years later, I was up to doing my own arranging under the guidance of Bob Creed.
